National green service provider Glendale has promoted Becky Fryer to the position of contract manager.
In her new role, Becky will oversee the company’s contract with schools improvement services, Babcock 4S, providing grounds maintenance to schools across Surrey.
Becky joined Glendale in 2013 as contract administrator for Glendale’s parks and green space maintenance contract with Waverley Borough Council.
She was promoted to the position of monitoring team leader at the Waverley contract in 2015, before becoming a senior supervisor a year later in recognition of her reliability, experience, enthusiasm and competence. She achieved promotion to contract manager the following year.
Becky said: “Grounds maintenance isn’t an industry I expected to find myself in, but it’s one that I’ve ended up finding very interesting. I wanted to advance my career and Glendale have the resources in place to allow me to do that. The opportunities they’ve provided me with have been excellent, I feel they’ve really invested a lot in me and I’m very grateful.
“I’ve enjoyed every role I’ve had so far with the company, you never get two days that are the same, and I’m looking forward to taking on this new challenge and continuing the excellent work already being done in the region.”
Nick Brooks, assistant regional director for the south-east at Glendale, said: “Becky has proven to be a dedicated and passionate member of the Glendale team, and has the experience and aptitude to ensure the work we undertake at the local schools in Surrey will support our commitment to enhancing outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.”
