Social value at the core of contract award

National green services provider Glendale has been awarded a four-year contract to provide grounds maintenance services for social housing provider, Acis.

A team of specialist, multi-service operatives, working across neighbourhoods in South Yorkshire and the North Midlands, will manage and maintain grass, hedges and shrubs, ensuring all sites are clean, tidy and presentable.

The new contract brings employment opportunities such as apprenticeships and work experience placements for young people in line with the social housing provider’s commitment to transforming lives in the local community.

Customers will also have access to information about the services in their area through an online portal which provides details about when work is due to take place and an opportunity to feedback about the work completed.

Simon Smith, regional manager at Glendale said: “Supporting local communities is always at the core of the work Glendale does, be it making sure green spaces are well looked after with a high-quality maintenance plan or providing local employment and training opportunities. Working with Acis has created the perfect partnership between two organisations that both have social value and community interest at the core of what they do.

“We want the residents to feel proud of the neighbourhood they live in, and we’re looking forward to supporting Acis in delivering green spaces for everyone to enjoy.”

Greg Bacon, chief executive at Acis said: “We’re committed to providing quality places for all our customers, and this includes outside spaces. We want people to be proud of where they live when they look out of their windows.”
