Glendale staff to the rescue

Three members of staff from Glendale’s contracts with Waverley Borough Council and Surrey Schools had an eventful day on 19th May when they were called upon to rescue a family of swans.

Becky Fryer, Shereen Marlow and Dale Morris were stuck in traffic when they were approached by a member of the public who requested their help moving a family of swans who were stranded in the middle of the road.

The team used their traffic management training to ease the congestion while ushering the birds out of danger into a nearby field.

“We stayed with them until staff from the local swan sanctuary turned up,” explained Shereen, contract administrator from Glendale’s contract with Surrey Schools.  “The sanctuary then asked for our help in rounding the two adults and their five babies up again.  It took a while but we managed to get all seven safely rounded up ready to be returned to their pond.”
