Glendale help rejuvenate a Bedworth childcare centre

A team from green services specialist, Glendale, donated their time to give the children at Bambini Childcare a brand new outdoor space.

Over a four week period, the team removed a metal play frame and old play surfaces from the site before importing 10-tonnes of topsoil in order to create play mounds for the children to explore. They then laid over 100 square metres of turf and five cubes of play bark, supplied by the childcare centre, to rejuvenate the landscape.

Bambini Childcare finished off the outdoor space with some new play equipment, recycled logs, shrubs and herbs to provide a sensory experience for the pupils.

Barry Bolton, contract manager for Glendale in Nuneaton, said: “With this being our 25th anniversary year we want to give as much back to the local community as possible. Bambini Childcare approached us and asked for our help reinvigorating their outdoor play space and it was the perfect opportunity to get involved in delivering something special for a key educational facility in Bedworth.

“The team worked extremely hard in order to ensure the new outdoor space was completed within the tight time frame so that the children would have a great place to play when they returned for the new school year. The project took place at our busiest time of the year during some very wet weather which prevented us from using any heavy lifting equipment but that didn’t stop the team who just increased their output in order to get the project finished. I am proud of their hard work and pleased with the finished product.”

Anna Fielding, manager/director of Bambini Childcare Ltd, comments: “I would like to thank the staff at Glendale for the hard work and dedication they put into ensuring the garden project was completed in time for the children returning after the summer break. I was astounded at how well they envisioned what we were looking for and ran with this.

“The children enjoyed watching the process of the garden being completed and are now exploring the sensory garden, mark making area and mud kitchen and we have Glendale to thank for that.

“We could not have completed this without the partnership of Glendale and I would recommend Glendale in the future.”
